Either a bin cage or a glass tank would be your best bet.
Bin cages are probably cheaper, but dont look as 'profesional' as glass tanks.
Both offer much more space for your money than cages do, and as long as they have proper screen lids then ventilation and escapes will not be a problem.
As long as you make a bin cage properly then yes, they will be escape proof.
